About SoleVersus

Last updated: October 2026 · Independent Athletic Telemetry

SoleVersus was founded on a simple conviction: runners deserve objective, spec-grounded answers to their gear questions, free from influencer marketing, brand-seeded hype, and subjective shoe reviews.

Our Dual-Engine Architecture

Unlike traditional review sites that rely on one reviewer's personal foot anatomy and running style, SoleVersus operates as a deterministic decision engine powered by two interlocking data pillars:

  • 1. Verified Mechanical Hard Specs: We ingest and reconcile lab durometer measurements, calliper-measured stack heights, digital gram weights, and outsole rubber compounds directly from teardown testing and brand technical blueprints.
  • 2. Cross-Platform Community Consensus: We continuously crawl, parse, and synthesize wear-tester logs from YouTube technical testers, Reddit running communities (r/RunningShoeGeeks, r/running), and verified multi-hundred-mile runner reports.

Absolute Independence

SoleVersus does not accept free promotional shoes, brand ambassadorships, sponsored product placements, or editorial guidance from shoe manufacturers. Every score, radar polygon, and dealbreaker warning on this site is generated mathematically through open-source scoring formulas calibrated strictly per category cohort.

The SoleVersus Standard

If a shoe has a design flaw—whether it's harsh arch bite, premature outsole delamination, or deceptive stack specs—it appears openly in our Dealbreaker Matrix. We build tools for runners who care about facts, not marketing narratives.
