Affiliate Disclosure (How We Make Money)
FTC Compliance · Outbound Commercial Links Disclosure
At SoleVersus, complete transparency is central to our mission. Running an independent testing platform with high-frequency community synthesis, custom SVG charting, and database maintenance requires continuous resources. Here is exactly how we fund this platform.
Retailer Referral Commissions
Some of the outbound links on SoleVersus (such as “Check Price” buttons and retailer purchase links) are affiliate links. When you click one of these links and complete a purchase at a partnered retailer (such as Running Warehouse, Fleet Feet, Nike, ASICS, or Adidas), SoleVersus may earn a small referral commission.
This occurs at zero additional cost to you. The price you pay is identical whether you use our link, navigate directly to the retailer, or use a coupon code.
Strict Separation from Scoring & Rankings
Our commercial relationships have zero impact on our editorial ratings, radar polygons, cohort leaderboards, or dealbreaker citations:
- Affiliate commissions do not affect Meta-Scores: A shoe with a higher affiliate commission rate receives the exact same deterministic score as a shoe sold with zero commission.
- We cover shoes without affiliate programs: If an outstanding shoe is only available through direct-to-consumer boutiques with no referral partnership, it is still indexed, audited, and ranked fairly on our leaderboards.
- All commercial links are tagged: In compliance with Google Webmaster and FTC regulations, all affiliate links include
rel="sponsored noopener noreferrer".
