Enforced Review Protocol · Community Synthesis Threshold: n ≥ 15

SoleVersus maintains an uncompromising commitment to objective, verifiable shoe telemetry. We believe that subjective “first-impression” unboxing reviews do a disservice to runners investing substantial money in performance footwear.

1. The n ≥ 15 Synthesis Threshold

No shoe profile or radar evaluation is published to SoleVersus without meeting our strict synthesis threshold:

  • Minimum 15 Independent Wear-Test Data Points: We parse and cross-validate detailed accounts from seasoned long-distance runners, independent shoe labs, YouTube teardowns, and dedicated community forums (including r/RunningShoeGeeks).
  • Mileage Requirement: We specifically filter for tester evaluations that exceed at least 50 miles of accumulated road or trail time to capture midsole foam packing, upper stretch, and initial outsole wear patterns.
  • Outlier Mitigation: Highly idiosyncratic fit complaints that cannot be reproduced across multiple independent runners are weighted down, while recurring pain points are escalated to our Dealbreaker Matrix.

2. Zero Brand Influence & Commercial Separation

We enforce an iron wall between our technical editorial engine and commercial partnerships:

  • No Free Product Seedings: SoleVersus does not accept free review units or promotional gifts from running brands. All teardown models and wear-test shoes are procured independently.
  • No Paid Reviews or Sponsored Scoring: Under no circumstances can a shoe brand or retailer pay to alter an 8-axis radar score, remove a dealbreaker citation, or boost a model's position on any leaderboard.
  • Algorithmically Sealed: Radar scores and Meta-Scores are calculated strictly through deterministic math, completely isolated from affiliate link presence or commission rates.

3. Corrections & Spec Audits

Shoe manufacturers frequently make mid-lifecycle revisions to foam densities, upper mesh weaves, or outsole compounds. If you spot a discrepancy between our published specs and current production models, our technical team investigates and updates our database within 48 hours.
